Who the Iron Athlete program is for
Iron Athlete is our youth sports performance program in Farmington, CT for young athletes who want to get stronger, faster, and more confident. It's built for kids and teens who are serious about their sport, as well as those who simply want to move better, build discipline, and develop a lifelong foundation of athleticism.
Whether your athlete is a multi-sport standout, specializing in one sport, returning from an injury, or just getting started, our coaches meet them where they are. The goal is long-term athletic development — not burning kids out with adult training programs, but building complete, resilient athletes over time.
Sports we support
The athletic qualities we build — strength, speed, power, coordination, and durability — transfer to virtually every sport. Our athletes come from a wide range of backgrounds, including:
- Soccer, basketball, and lacrosse
- Baseball and softball
- Football and hockey
- Track and field, cross country, and running
- Volleyball, tennis, and golf
- Wrestling, gymnastics, dance, and cheer
Age range
Iron Athlete is designed for youth athletes ages 9–16. Training is grouped and scaled by age and ability so every athlete is challenged appropriately and coached with movements suited to their stage of development. Younger athletes focus on coordination and movement literacy, while older athletes progress into more advanced strength and power work.
Training focus
Every Iron Athlete session develops the full range of qualities that make a complete, resilient athlete:
- Strength — building a foundation of full-body strength that protects joints and powers every athletic movement.
- Speed — teaching proper sprint mechanics, acceleration, and change of direction to help athletes get faster on the field.
- Power — developing explosiveness through jumping, throwing, and Olympic-style movements scaled to youth athletes.
- Movement quality — coaching clean, efficient movement patterns so athletes move well before they move heavy or fast.
- Injury resilience — strengthening the whole body and improving mobility and control to reduce the risk of common youth sports injuries.
Seasonal schedule
Iron Athlete runs as seasonal sports performance training, so athletes can train intentionally around their competitive seasons. We help families plan for off-season strength and power development, in-season maintenance that keeps athletes fresh, and pre-season preparation that has them peaking when it matters most.
Because seasons vary by sport, we work with each family to time training for maximum benefit. Reach out and we'll walk you through the current schedule and the best entry point for your athlete.

Parent and athlete success stories
My son gained real confidence in just one season. He's stronger, faster, and actually looks forward to training. The coaches push him while keeping it fun and safe.
The coaches genuinely care about the kids as people, not just athletes. My daughter's speed and coordination on the court have improved noticeably, and she loves the team environment.
I came in wanting to get faster for baseball and left stronger everywhere. My sprint times dropped and I feel way more explosive at the plate. Best decision I've made for my game.
